Romanian gymnast Larisa Iordache, all-around gold medalist in Taipei

Romanian gymnast Larisa Iordache on Tuesday won the gold medal at the all-around individual event in the artistic gymnastics competition of the 29th Summer Universiade in Taipei (Taiwan).

Larisa Iordache, second after the qualifications, with 55.700 points, ranked first in the finals with a total of 56.750 points, 14,400 at vault, 14,300 at uneven bars, 14,000 at the beam and 14,050 at the floor exercise.

Iordache (21 years old), who was the Romanian delegation flag bearer at the opening ceremony on Saturday, has thus brought the first medal to Romania’s team in Taipei.

Larisa Iordache, who will compete on Wednesday in three apparatus finals, at uneven bars, the beam and the floor, has completed her impressive record with the Taipei medal, that also features a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games (all-around, floor exercise) and two silver medals (all-around, floor) and two bronze ones (all-around, floor) at the World Championship, five gold medals (two with the team, two on the floor, one on the beam), five silver (two on the beam, all-around, vault and floor) and two bronze (jump and beam) at the European Championship.
