Speaker Dragnea, on Tel Drum investigation: Perhaps these companies close down to make room for others

Speaker of the Deputies’ Chamber Liviu Dragnea believes that searches being conducted at as many companies as possible are “a good thing”, because they could lead to the close down of such companies and more room will be created on the market for others.

When questioned in relation to the ongoing search the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) is conducting at the Salcia pig farm, Dragnea answered: “I don’t know how this one is going, since I wasn’t there, but I believe that it is a good thing to conduct searches at as many companies as possible, maybe that way, slowly, these companies will close and more room will be made on the market for others.”

“I don’t know who is the target there, and who isn’t, what was the search for exactly, and I don’t know whether they searched the pigs or not; however, this is an ongoing investigation and I have no idea what is happening there. (…) Anyone can become subject to an investigation in Romania,” said Dragea, currently on a visit to Calarasi.
