Claudiu Manda, Chairman of Parliament’s Committee for the Oversight of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), announced on Monday that SRI Colonel Daniel Dragomir (photo) will be heard by the committee on Tuesday, in order to clarify the accusations he publicly levelled, also by providing evidence.
“Today I had a talk with all committee members. We talked a bit about the committee’s activity. Tomorrow we have the first ordinary meeting. I had a talk with Mr Daniel Dragomir. I invited him tomorrow, at 4.30 p.m., before the SRI Oversight Committee. So, he will come tomorrow, at 4.30 p.m. I have also sent a written request on the email address he gave me,” Claudiu Manda stated.
He said the meeting with Daniel Dragomir was scheduled to analyse the statements made by the former SRI colonel.
“It’s a first-stage meeting. I have seen a series of statements he made for the media. The SRI Committee expresses its availability to discuss all details that Mr Dragomir can present, also by providing evidence, including issues he can state. (…) Mr Dragomir will have to tell us, the committee, in a clearly spelled-out manner, things that he considers he can state or things that we hope he wants to tell the committee,” Manda added.
