ANAF launches the regional conferences under the national prevention program called “PROTECTOR – Safe Business”

The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) announced that it will launch a number of presentations related to the internal attributions and processes in the field of implementing international sanctions, at the conferences organized through the national prevention program called “PROTECTOR – Safe Business”.

The meeting is addressed to the economic agents; the first regional conference will be held in Prahova County, in the last week of September. On September 26, 2017, at the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and industry, there will be held the first regional conference organized by the National Agency for Fiscal Administration under the meetings organized through the national prevention program “PROTECTOR – Safe Business”.

The meeting is addressed to the economic agents, being invited representatives from the counties of Arges, Calarasi, Dambovita, Giurgiu, Ialomita, Prahova and Teleorman. “PROTECTOR – Safe business” is an interinstitutional program consisting of a cycle of eight regional conferences dedicated to the economic operators who trade, sell and provide products and services that are subject to the export control regime or to international sanctions. The program aims to raise awareness of the risks arising from non-compliance with the international sanctions imposed to certain countries, on the basis of developing weapons of mass destruction, as well as of the risks caused by not observing the national regime for the export control for certain categories of goods and services.

PROTECTOR is supported by the National Agency for Fiscal Administration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry for the Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of National Defense, the National Bank of Romania, the National Office for the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering, the National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control, the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Romanian Intelligence Service.

In this context, according to the organizers, at the eight regional conferences, experts of the above mentioned institutions will inform the participants about the most important issues related to the subject of the debates. Thus, the experts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Department for the Export Control, will present parts of the specific laws in the field of the export control of the products with double use and military products.

First of all, they will explain which the possibilities are to request specialized advice on the stages of authorizing these products, the political opportunity to perform such operations, in accordance with Romania’s international commitments in the field and related to including the products on the control lists. The representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, through the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police – Department of Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances, will present interesting data in the field of the transfer and export of weapons, explosives and dangerous substances, as well as the necessary steps that have to be fulfilled, the mandatory documents and the sanctions in case of not observing the law. The ANAF representatives at the event will present the attributions related to the implementation of the international sanctions, including those specific to the competent structures.

At the same time, the officials of the Ministry for the Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship will provide information related to the specific laws in the field of the export to markets that are subject to the international sanctions and the steps to be fulfilled in order to establish the need of an authorization to be issued by the competent institution, while the representatives of the Ministry of national Defense will present interesting issues for the economic operators that request to organize and conduct exhibitions, demonstrations, meetings and sessions at the premises of the units of this ministry, whose purpose consists of: presenting military products and products with double use; negotiating or organizing deals involving the removal or introduction of military products from or within Romania.

Not at last, those who will be present will receive details related to the consequences of the international sanctions established unilaterally by EU or NATO Member States against the activity of local economic operators abroad.
