Senate Chairman Tariceanu to pay official visit to the Czech Republic, Oct. 9-11

Chairman of the Romanian Senate Calin Popescu-Tariceanu will be paying an official visit to the Czech Republic, October 9-11, on an invitation from his Czech counterpart Milan Stech.

According to an internal memorandum of the Romanian Senate approved on Monday by the Standing Bureau, including in the official retinue will be Senators Aurel Horea Soporan of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and Ioan Cristina of the National Liberal Party (PNL).

The draft schedule of the visit includes meetings with the president of the Czech Republic, chairs of the Czech Senate and Chamber of Deputies, the Czech prime minister and the minister of foreign affairs.

“The agenda of talks features bilateral co-operation, especially parliamentary cooperation in a Bucharest (B9) format, with emphasis on participation in the first parliamentary summit in this format co-initiated by the Chairman of the Romanian Senate and the Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland,” reads the memorandum.
