New meeting of Presidential Committee on country project

The Presidential Committee on the country project, initiated by President Klaus Iohannis, met on Monday for the fourth time, at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.

“The Presidential Committee stressed that the country project is primarily a project of values, based on the vision of a European, modern and strong Romania. In this context, strengthening the rule of law and the existence of a true democracy are indispensable prerequisites for a Romania in which the hierarchy of values should become the rule, not the exception. As to the economic dimension of the country project, the importance of responsible economic policies to provide stability and predictability for businesses and to lead to a sustainable economic development, by which Romania should capitalize on its strengths and competitive advantages has been underscored,” reads a press release of the Presidential Administration.

According to the release, the members of the Presidential Committee, representatives of parliamentary political parties and formations and specialists in various fields, analyzed the revised versions of the contributions of the working groups, made observations and brought additions in an interdisciplinary format.

At the same time, the Committee agreed on the need to harmonize the documents drawn up at the working groups, so that to highlight as prominently as possible the elements of vision and major objectives of the country project.

The next meeting of the Presidential Committee will take place in early November.
