Insolvency of companies and PFA up by 7.58pct, January through September

The number of companies and registered sole traders (PFA) facing insolvency went up by 7.58 per cent January through September this year, compared with the same period of 2016, reaching 6,441 units, the data published on the site of the National Trade Register Office (ONRC) reveal.

Most of the companies and registered sole traders facing insolvency are from Bucharest, 1,393 respectively, up by 15.6 per cent compared to January-September 2016, followed by Iasi County with 385 (+ 8.76 per cent) and Bihor County, with 351 cases (-16.82 per cent).

Most insolvencies were recorded in retail and wholesale, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sectors – 1,933, up by 3.76 per cent.

Also, 11,779 companies suspended their activity (-7,24 per cent) and 20,692 were dissolved, a decrease of -12,24 per cent.
