Ludwik Sobolewski resigns from Bucharest Stock Exchange top position

Ludwik Sobolewski notified the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) regarding his resignation from the position of Director General of the company, reads a notification released on the website of the share market’s operator.

“Bucharest Stock Exchange informs that on 27 October 2017, Ludwik Sobolewski notified the company on his resignation as Director General of the company,” reads the document.

According to information in the market, the decision of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) nominating the new chair is being expected, after the Board of the BVB has recently initiated an in-house selection process of candidates for the position of director general.

“The Stock Exchange Board (Board of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, hereafter called ‘the company’ or ‘BVB’) has initiated an in-house selection process of candidates for the position of Director general, to take place in the forthcoming period,” reads a document of the BVB.

Alin Barbu, Deputy Director General of the BVB, presently coordinates the activity of the institution, after the employment mandate of Director General Ludwik Sobolewski expired end-August of this year and he decide not to exert his mandate until the decision of the BVB Board, representatives of the BVB stated for Agerpres.

“Alin Barbu has been, since 2009, one of the two directors of BVB authorised by ASF, being one of the people who, according to the Statute and the decisions of the Stock Exchange’s Board, is empowered to coordinate the activity of BVB and has the competency to engage its responsibility,” the quoted source explained.
