This event is the “Toma Caragiu” Ploiesti Theater Festival.
Between October 31 and November 5, 2017, the capital city of the Prahova County will host the seventh edition of the “Toma Caragiu” Ploiesti Theater Festival. The event is organized by the Ploiesti Municipality, the “Toma Caragiu” Theater and the “Viitor Art” Association. The performances are scheduled to take place at the “Toma Caragiu” Theater, at the Trade Union’s Culture House, at the new hall of the Ciufulici Theater for Children and at the Theater’s Beerhouse. The selection of the festival’s plays was made by Raluca Radulescu, who is a translator and journalist, and a radio program producer at Radio Romania Cultural, the poster of the festival including the names of some of the most important Romanian directors. “The Ploiesti Theater Festival actually addresses to the audience, to people who don’t have the opportunity to see the performances with their beloved actors somewhere else. High quality plays will be performed at this festival. For instance, ‘The Chocolate Soldier’ is an easy, family, relaxing high-quality play, which can be watched after a crazy working day. In the interactive play “O mie de cuvinte”, where Florin Piersic jr. plays, it’s like you ‘re in the actor’s living room. As for ‘Leul Ra’, it is a… toy spectacle” stated Raluca Radulescu, the selector of the festival, offering details and presenting some of the plays prepared for the audience. She also wished to mention: “Also because there is a current hashtag trend, I could say that #Sensitiveness matches to the Ploiesti Theater Festival. Yes, sensitiveness, because if you analyze the selected spectacles, sensitiveness is the word that unites them”.
Tickets were available almost two weeks before the first gong of the festival, but as the organizers of the event announced, they are already sold out one week before the first performance of five plays. The most wanted tickets were for the performances in which the public can see the famous actors Victor Rebengiuc, Oana Pellea and Marcel Iures on the Ploiesti stage.
