European Commissioner for economy and digital society, Mariya Gabriel, is set to pay a visit to Romania on Monday and Tuesday, reads a release of the Representative Office of the European Commission in Romania.
During the first day of his visit, the European official will hold a speech in the opening of the 7th edition of the annual high-level international conference “New global challenges in cyber security field.”
Moreover, Mariya Gabriel is set to meet Deputy PM Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, Minister of Communications and Information Society Lucian Sova and representatives of the parties interested in the illegal online content issue.
The European Commissioner will also visit the Innovation Labs project, endorsed by the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
On Tuesday, Mariya will participate in the 2nd edition of the International Digital Forum entitled “Start-ups in 4.0 industries”, where he is also expected to deliver a speech. Then, he will meet the members of the specialist committees and the Committee for European affairs of the Romanian Parliament.
The Commissioner will visit two projects facilitating access to library resources of visually impaired or blind people, as well as the development of digital competencies of girls and women passionate about information technology and communications.
