Royal Family: King Michael’s health has worsened

King Michael’s general state of health has worsened and features marked weakness and a significant drop in resistance, the Royal Family informs, pointing out that Crown Princess Margareta has been at the private residence in Switzerland since Sunday evening.

“Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu have returned to Switzerland last evening, at the private residence of His Majesty. The general condition of King Michael has worsened and features marked weakness and a significant drop in resistance,” the Royal Family announced on Monday.

Likewise, the Royal Family points out that this week it will discuss the current medical treatment with the doctors treating King Michael.

“This week, the Royal Family will have a round of meetings with His Majesty’s doctors, to discuss the King’s current treatment and to receive their advice in the current circumstances,” the Royal Family points out.

King Michael turned 96 on October 25.

King Michael I – the last monarch in Eastern Europe, who turned 96 on 25 October 2017 – retired from public life in early March last year, when the Royal Family announced he was diagnosed with metastasized epidermoid carcinoma and chronic leukaemia and underwent surgery at a clinic in Lausanne.
