Fifty exhibitors represent Romania at World Travel Market, Centennial logo promoted alongside country brand

The holiday destination of Alba Iulia, cultural routes, spa tourism and adventure tourism will be promoted this year at the world’s largest international travel trade show, the World Travel Market, which takes place in London, November 6-8, the Ministry of Tourism announced on Monday.

The theme of the Romanian stand, where 50 exhibitors are present, highlights the centennial of the country’s Greater Union of 1918, with the ministry to preview the Centennial logo, the unique element of identification for all the events that will be organised by Romania during the next year.

“This year, Romania brings to the attention of the professionals, the holiday destination of Alba Iulia and cultural routes, nature and the countryside tourism, city break packages, active and adventure tourism, wellness and spa tourism. The stand’s theme this edition is unique and highlights in a stylised manner the 100th anniversary of the Greater Union of 1918. Access to the stand that covers 238 square metres is made through a replica of the third gate of the Alba Carolina Fortress. Displaying at the stand set up by the Romanian Ministry of Tourism are 50 exhibitors, representatives of tour operators, destination management organisations, county councils, hotels and airlines,” the ministry says in a press statement.

The Ministry of Tourism is represented in London by Secretary of State Cristina Ionela Tarteata. For the entire duration of the exhibition, the official will hold a series of meetings with representatives of the largest media companies in order to identify the possibilities of promoting Romania on global media channels, namely National Geographic, CNN, BBC, Travel Channel and the Lonely Planet Publication.

At the same time, she will also attend a summit of the tourism ministers attending the WTM (over 160 countries and territories), an event organised by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) under the aegis of UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai.

The World Travel Market London is the leading global event for the travel industry, playing a fundamental role in establishing new business contacts. Romania consistently participated in WTM with a national stand in all the 36 previous editions.
