Ambassador of the UK to Romania Paul Brummell stated on Friday in Constanta that, in his view, the measures adopted in the fiscal area should be very clear and the economic climate should be predictable.
In the context of a visit that the official paid to Constanta, on the occasion of the inauguration of a photo-documentary exhibition called “Cernavoda-Constanta British railway,” held at the National History and Archeology Museum, journalists asked him how does he comment the amendments to the Tax Code through the Emergency Ordinance adopted by the Gov’t.
“For British investors, for foreign companies, it’s important that the investment climate be stable and predictable. Therefore, it’s important that measures be clear. We are looking forward new proposals and measures. The Embassy will certainly observe the law, as an employer here, in Romania. But the decision belongs to the Government because the decision regarding the fiscal system is a sovereign decision,” Paul Brummell said.
