The National Liberal Party (PNL) MEP Cristian Busoi stated on Saturday at Iasi that not to make a priority objective of the current government from building the three emergency hospitals, is “a crime and an irresponsibility, mentioning that we might lose the financing of EUR 150 million.
Cristian Busoi said in a press conference that there is no sign that the health system is a priority for the PSD government, and he gave the example of the “epic” of the three regional hospitals that should be built in Iasi, Cluj and Craiova.
He also said that having EUR 150 million from the European Union for the three hospitals and not doing anything to attract this money is unbelievable.
“I draw attention with all my responsibility that the maximum term to attract this money is 2022, following the rule 2020 plus two more years. Building and endowing the hospital involves a work of at least two years. Only the tender for awarding the contract lasts at least one more year. These are huge stakes” Cristian Busoi stated.
The Liberal MEP says that Romania might lose this money, arguing that “we know how much things are delayed and how complicated is the legislation in the public procurements field in Romania”.
“There are already three years which will be spent since the work will be awarded. We are exactly in the moment in which the tender is not even started, the consultant who will prepare the specifications is not even selected yet. Not making a priority objective at least of the Health Ministry, if not of the Romanian Government, from building the three hospitals, is a crime and an irresponsibility” Cristian Busoi said.
The leader of PNL Iasi, MP Costel Alexe, stated in his turn, at the same press conference, that there is nothing concrete about the regional hospital in Iasi, although there was a big noise about it when the location was established in order to build the health unit.
“The location was changed quickly and with big noise. It should have been built in Miroslava (a contiguous commune of Iasi – e.n.), but it was decided that it will be built in Moara de Vint, in the city. The reason invoked was the emergency, but one year has been gone since then and we don’t know anything concrete. The new location will be a difficulty for the cars in other counties in terms of reaching the regional emergency hospital in Iasi” also said the Chairman of PNL Iasi, Costel Alexe.
