Dobrovolschi announces President Iohannis’s agenda for the next period. Participation to summits on promoting jobs in Gothenburg, on the Eastern Partnership in Brussels and to a debate in Ploiesti

President Klaus Iohannis attends on Friday the social summit on promoting equitable jobs and economic growth in the EU, which will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, Presidential spokesperson Madalina Dobrovolschi announced on Tuesday.

Dobrovolschi mentioned that this summit will gather heads of state and government of EU member states, social partners, but also other high-level key-actors and will include a plenary introductive session and three thematic sessions regarding the access on the labour market, the situation of labour market and the transition between jobs and labour market.

The spokesperson indicated that the head of state will deliver a speech at the session on the topic of access on labour market.

Dobrovolschi mentioned that an informal meeting of EU leaders will also take place, on the occasion of this summit, which is dedicated to future actions of the EU in the area of culture and education themes.


The Eastern partnership summit in Brussels on November 24


Dobrovolschi also announced that  Klaus Iohannis will attend an Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels on November 24.

“It is a relevant moment in shaping up the prospects for the development of relations between the EU and the countries in the Eastern Neighborhood in a complex international context. This summit will also seek to confirm the progress of the actions that were set at the previous summit held in Riga in 2015,” Dobrovolschi told a news conference on Tuesday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.

She added that a new legal framework for cooperation between Armenia and the EU will be signed in Brussels.

Dobrovolschi mentioned that the Eastern Partnership includes four platforms, namely democracy, good governance and stability, economic integration and convergence of community policies, energy security, contacts between people.


Debate on Romania’s cities at 100 years since Greater Union in Ploiesti on November 22


President Klaus Iohannis will attend the debate called “Romania’s cities at 100 years since the Greater Union,” on 22 November in Ploiesti, presidential spokesperson Madalina Dobrovolschi also announced.

“The debate takes place in the context in which we are about to enter the year of the Greater Union Centennial. It is an important occasion when we can draw the line, carry out an analysis in respect to the place where Romania is currently standing, in what development stage are Romania’s communities, but also an important occasion for those elected to inform citizens in respect to the prospects they have in mind regarding the development of rural and urban areas of Romania in the next period,” Madalina Dobrovolschi announced on Tuesday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.

The debate, which will be attended by local officials, representative of the academia, businessmen and people residing in Ploiesti, is organised by the local City Hall and Petrol and Gas University.
