PSD’s Dragnea challenges lien on his estate

Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader Liviu Dragnea has challenged, through his lawyers, the lien imposed on his estate by the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA), in the Tel Drum case.

The challenge has been recorded on Friday and the court needs to establish next a term to rule in this case.

On Tuesday, the anti-corruption prosecutors took precautionary measures in respect to the assets of Liviu Dragnea and the other suspects in the “Tel Drum” case.

According to the DNA, the measures were taken in order to recover the damages produced in this case, estimated to be worth more than 127 million lei.

On November 13, the DNA announced that the Speaker of the Deputies, Liviu Dragnea, is facing a criminal investigation over creating a criminal ring, abuse of office and fraud, all crimes committed in the “Tel Drum” case, in his capacity as President of the Teleorman County Council.
