Romanian nationals may enter Canada visa exempt starting December 1

Romania’s Foreign Ministry (MAE) on Wednesday informed that starting on December 1, 2017, Romanian citizens may enter Canada visa exempt for stays of up to six months at a time for tourist purposes (including visiting family /acquaintances or exploring business opportunities) only on a valid Romanian passport.

According to a press statement released by MAE, the measure enters into force on December 1 at 16:00hrs, EET.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the decision of the Canadian officials to lift the visa requirements for Romanian nationals, a decision that crowns the sustained diplomatic efforts of recent years at bilateral Romanian-Canadian level as well as in a trilateral format, with the participation of the European Commission,” reads the statement.
