1,500 militaries and 120 technical means at the parade in Alba Iulia
Alba Iulia municipality will host on December 1 a military parade, not just a march, as it initially appeared in the schedule of the events published by the local authorities. The reason of the radical changes in the event’s schedule is given by the presence of the PM Mihai Tudose in Alba Iulia, together with the heads of the two Chambers of the parliament, Liviu Dragnea and Calin Popescu Tariceanu.
According to those mentioned at a technical meeting hosted last Wednesday by the “Mihai Viteazul” Military National College, where all the involved factors have been present, around 1,500 militaries and 120 technical means will participate in the parade, unlike the previous year, when there were 600 militaries; there will be armored conveyors, cannons, and one of them will be presented, for instance, on a trailer, not to damage the road because of its weight and tracks. Equestrian means included in the parade will be a novelty. Also, if the weather will allow, several MIG Lancer aircrafts and helicopters will fly over the sky. A cannon of impressive dimensions will be brought on a trailer.
“We had a meeting with all the local officials considering that there is possible that on December 1, on the occasion of the National Day, the Alba Iulia Garrison will host a military parade both with pedestrian forces and with military technique from the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Interior. Following the approval given by the Minister of National Defense and by the Chief of the General Staff, approximately 1,500 militaries from MApN, MAI and SRI and approximately 120 technical means will participate” stated for the press the commander of the 4th Infantry Division “Gemina” from Cluj Napoca, Brigadier General Virgil Ovidiu Pop.
The parade will be attended by the following military units and institutions: 811 Dej Infantry Battalion, 812 Bistrita Infantry Battalion, 17 Mountain Huntsmen Battalion, 317 ISR “Vladeasa” Regiment, 50 “Andrei Muresanu” Antiaircraft Missile Regiment, 69 “Silvania” Mixed Artillery Regiment, 136 “Apulum” Military Engineering Battalion, “Mihai Viteazul” Military National College, the Land Forces Academy, the Gendarmerie, the Emergency Situations Inspectorate, the Romanian Intelligence Service and the Local Police.
