Young cellists Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser, together known as 2CELLOS, have achieved sensational success by taking cello to a new level. Their playing style has broken down the boundaries between musical genres, from classical and film music to pop and rock. 2CELLOS have no limits when it comes to performing live. The two musicians are drawing millions of YouTube views and are really good in filling concert halls.
Being at its third concert in Romania, the 2Cellos band held an incendiary concert in Bucharest, marking the evening of December 5 as a memorable one for the fans who came at the Palace Hall. The concert which is part of the promotion tour of the new album called “SCORE”, was sold out.
The 2 Cellos performance was designed as a crescendo this time, too, the evening starting with slow and romantic rhythms, and while the songs were played the rhythm became more and more alert, bringing the public to ecstasy. The ambiance was complemented by the lights, as well as by the London Symphonic Orchestra and the drummer Dusan Kranjc who accompanied the two cellists. The thousands of spectators sang and applauded enthusiastically during the two hours of the show.
Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser brought famous songs on the stage, from the film soundtrack, such as “Schindler’s List Main Theme”, “Rain Man” or the soundtrack of the “Gladiator”, to hits like “Smooth Criminal”, “With or Without You”, “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, “You Shook Me All Night Long” or “Thunderstruck”, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “Despacito”, all of them to the delight of the audience. The arcs of the cellos broke one by one, yielding to the overwhelming energy of the two soloists.
Luka Šulić stated for www.pbs.org: “We consider ourselves musicians primarily, and we don’t like to divide music into different genres. For us, music is emotion.” And this is true! Their music sends positive energies! I can say from all my heart that this was one of the best concerts I have attended this year! I strongly recommend you not to miss the next 2Cellos concert in Romania.
