Orban: PNL will support all the necessary steps for the early elections. PSD has no longer legitimacy

The National Liberal Party (PNL) Chairman Ludovic Orban stated on Friday that his party will support all the necessary steps in order to have early elections, since PSD has no longer legitimacy and the current governing program has no longer connection with the one in the electoral campaign.

“We support early elections. PSD has no longer legitimacy. The governing program has no longer connection with the one that was presented in the campaign, with the big lies they said then. Returning to people is natural” Orban said.

“We will support all the necessary steps to have early elections” the PNL leader added at a live Q&A session on Facebook.

Orban mentioned that PSD eroded a lot in the first years of governing and expressed his mistrust that it will be able to complete the four-year mandate, due this erosion.

PNL Chairman slightly departs himslef from the USR actions: I don’t see a Liberal using a speaking-tube in the Romanian Parliament. There is microphone there

PNL Chairman Ludovic Orban stated on Friday, referring to the fact that the USR MPs blocked the access to the Parliament’s tribune on Wednesday, using a speaking-tube, that he personally doesn’t see a Liberal with a speaking-tube in the Parliament and that the opposition must relate to objectives, rather than to use image effects.

“It would have been more efficient to support each rejected amendment from the tribune, because supporting each rejected amendment for the tribune would have been prolonged the debate for a long time, since there were dozens or hundreds of amendments; we supported our amendments from the tribune. Honestly, I don’t see a Liberal with a speaking-tube in the Romanian Parliament. There is the Parliament’s microphone there. When the Chamber’s Speaker makes abuses and tries to speak, there is a possibility to express your opinion” PNL Chairman Ludovic Orban stated on Friday.

Asked how he qualifies this new way to make opposition in Parliament, the Liberal said that “the opposition has to be articulated, substantial, to be effective and to aim at achieving the objectives, rather than to use image effects”.

The Wednesday’s plenary session of the Deputies’ Chamber lasted about 13 hours, with extensive procedural debates, at some point a group of USR PMs blocking the access to the tribune and using a speaking-tube to present their amendments at the Statute of the magistrates.
