Daniel Dragomir launches civic action meant to fight “deep state”

Former Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) Colonel Daniel Dragomir held a press conference on Sunday, announcing the launch of the ‘Romania 3.0’ civic initiative and claiming that Romanians “are being arrested by a hidden, illegitimate and abusive power which – by resorting to subversion, blackmail, and threats – decides the political decisions, thus undermining the democratic mechanisms established by the Constitution and the country’s laws.”

“Today, Romania is the prisoner of some structures of occult, illegitimate power, subordinated to foreign interests. The media has dubbed them the deep state. I call them and present them to you as Securitate 2.0, the second form that the Securitate took after December 1989. A battle between Romania and this Securitate that has infiltrated state institutions is starting today,” Dragomir stated.

The former SRI officer claimed that President Donald Trump also “is fighting today the structures of a deep state that affects even the U.S.”

“The deep state camp has a specific – external – characteristic, that everyone should have a dossier – at the Securitate, at the prosecutor’s office, at ANAF [Romanian Tax Authority],” Dragomir added.

He launched a public call on all people who want to defend Romania.

“Our country has been arrested. We are all being arrested by a hidden, illegitimate and abusive power that – by resorting to subversion, blackmail, threats – decides the political decisions, thus undermining the democratic mechanisms established by the Constitution and the country’s laws. This power is foreign to the national interest: it’s a corrupt power formed by people and groups of interests from the sphere of alphabet agencies and subordinated to external pressures. It replaces the legitimate political power, which is the result of the expression of the Romanian people’s will in free and democratic elections. It has infiltrated most state institutions and maintains its power and influence through the skilled manipulation of the collective feelings of well-intentioned segments of the population,” Daniel Dragomir claimed.

One of his proposals is for all NGOs to present – on a quarterly basis – all their cash flows, and to be automatically disbanded if they fail to do that.

The former SRI officer said that in the following period he will travel and hold meeting both in Romania and abroad.

Daniel Dragomir avoided saying who is backing him or naming the foreign powers and occult forces that allegedly hold Romania “prisoner.”
