40-day memorial service of King Mihai I to be held on Jan 13 at Curtea de Arges Monastery

The Royal Family will attend on Saturday, January 13 2018, the 40-day memorial service since the passing of King Mihai I of Romania, the romaniaregala.ro website informs.

The service will be officiated by Archbishop Calinic of Arges and Muscel and it will be held at the Old Archbishopric and Royal Cathedral of the Curtea de Arges Monastery.

Afterwards, a prayer will be given at the tomb of King Mihai I, on the verandah of the New Archbishopric and Royal Cathedral, the quoted source mentions.

The Archbishop will be accompanied by a group of hierarchs from the Curtea de Arges Monastery and the diocese, headed by the monastery’s abbot Father Caliopie.

The memorial service will also be attended by nuns from the Pasarea and Tiganesti Monasteries.

According to the quoted source, all those who want to take part in the event are welcomed, but the prayer given at the tomb will be attended only by the Royal Family.

King Mihai I died on 5 December 2017, at the age of 96, at his residence in Switzerland and he was buried on 16 December 2017 in the New Archbishopric and Royal Cathedral of Curtea de Arges.
