PSD’s Dragnea: No need to call extraordinary congress, party not divided

Chairman of the ruling Social Democratic Party (PSD) Liviu Dragnea said on Friday in Vaslui that PSD is not divided and the scandal that has made headlines is actually of a far lesser scale than perceived.

Answering a question of the reporters, Dragnea also said that under the current circumstances there is no need to call an extraordinary congress of the party.

Asked if he is behind the decision of Interior Minister Carmen Dan to stand her ground and not resign office, the Social Democrat leader refrained from comments.

“It is my understanding – as I didn’t watch the broadcast – that last night Mrs. Minister has come out publicly with well-grounded and argued information,” Liviu Dragnea said.

The PSD Chairman attends in Vaslui a meeting with the county party leaders.
