The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) decided to earmark approximately 300 million euro for the completion of the financial arrangement to the M6 metro line (1 Mai – Otopeni – e.n.) Transport Minister Felix Stroe told a news conference on Monday.
“Today we had a working meeting with the EBRD. I want to mention that these meetings are held weekly. Today, the EBRD representatives gave us a very good piece of news. The final decision was made in London, at EBRD, for the allocation of approximately 300 million euro for the completion of the financial arrangement to the M6 metro line. It’s an extremely positive thing that should bring us joy,” the Minister stated.
Moreover, he added that, as of Monday, the team working with the World Bank team on the Ploiesti-Brasov highway project is operational.
“In accordance with the calendar that I took on with the WB today, 15 January, the implementing unit made up of competent specialists became operational, having all the necessary logistics, conditions to start working. As of today, the team working together with the WB on the Ploiesti-Brasov highway project is operational. There are things that nobody believed in, a little while back and which started today and cannot be halted even if someone would want it,” Stroe underscored.
At the end of 2017, the Transport Ministry announced that it recently approved and sent to the European Commission, the funding request for the M6 metro line 1 Mai – Otopeni, with a total project value of almost 1.392 billion euro.
The new metro line will have a length of 14.2 km and 12 metro stations.
