Arctic has appointed a new General Manager

Arctic, the leader of the Romanian home appliances market, named Mr. Murat Büyükerk as its new General Manager to lead the company starting January 2018, a press release issued by the company informs.  Mr. Büyükerk will be taking the helm from Mr. Nihat Bayız who was promoted to the R&D Director position at Arçelik Group, the parent company of Arctic.

Mr. Büyükerk has been part of the Arçelik Group for 28 years assuming leadership positions in product management, supply chain and sales. Prior to his current role, he was acting as the head of International Regional Sales for Arçelik Group since 2014, successfully leading the introduction of a wide range of best in class products and technologies which has fueled the growth of the Arçelik group globally.

Mr. Büyükerk holds a B.Sc. degree in Economy from Ege University.

I congratulate my predecessor, Mr. Bayız, during whose mandate the construction of a new washing machine factory started in Ulmi, Damboviţa, a greenfield investment that is an important milestone for the Arçelik Group and Arctic. The new Ulmi factory, built according to the concept of Industry 4.0, is the first step in turning Romania into an European production hub for the Arçelik Group. I am very confident about Romanian team and I am sure that together we will further develop Arctic’s success story and we will continue to offer the highest quality products.”, declared Mr. Murat Büyükerk, Arctic General Manager.

During Mr. Bayız’s mandate, Arctic recorded the largest turnover in history, backed both by good sales results and an increase in export volumes. Arctic has consolidated its leadership position for both its Arctic and Beko brands with a wide range of products and services tailored to the needs and lifestyle of Romanian consumers. At the same time, Arctic continued to be actively involved in the development of local community-led educational projects after supporting the establishment of the first dual professional education classes in Damboviţa in 2017, contributing to the professional development of the future generation of technical workers.
