In 2017, Romania had the biggest economic growth in the European Union, of more than 7 per cent. In this context, a significant contribution to this economic growth was due to the increase recorded in the bilateral relations, which reached a new record in 2017, with an increase of approximately 9 per cent in the first nine months of the year, mainly due to the measures implemented by the government, including eight mixed inter-governmental committees and tens of economic missions and business forums, held both in Romania and abroad, with 2017 being the most productive for Romania from this perspective, of the past 10 years,” stated Laufer, in the opening of the government meeting.

The Minister for Business Environment also presented some of the countries with the help of which Romania reached a new historic record in bilateral exchanges.

“Among the countries with the help of which Romania reached a new historic record in bilateral exchanges are Canada – 152 per cent, Iran – 43 per cent, India – 30 per cent, China – 23 per cent, Germany – 17 per cent, Poland 19 per cent, USA – 12 per cent, the Russian Federation – 10 per cent, with these figures representing the official data for the first nine months of 2017,” mentioned Laufer.

In respect to the business environment, he said that 136,699 new companies were established in 2017, which means a growth of “approximately 30 per cent compared with 2016, when there were registered 105,982 companies.”

“And the number of companies radiated in 2017 is of only 82,295 compared with 2016, when, under the technocrat government, this figure reached its maximum of the past years, of 110,000 radiated companies,” said Laufer.
