Prime Minister-designate Viorica Dancila announced on Friday that the new Government will include new names, but also ministers of the former Cabinet.
“I have participated in the evaluation, analysis of the proposals on the future PSD-ALDE Cabinet [Social Democratic Party-Alliance of Liberals and Democrats]. Together with the PSD-ALDE leaders, we assessed the proposals made for the future ministers. During the National Executive Committee [CExN] meeting, these people will be submitted to voting inside the party (…) There are also new names, and ministers of the former Cabinet as well,” Viorica Dancila said before the PSD’s CExN meeting.
She said she would also go to the ALDE meeting.
“I will go to the ALDE meeting. The time is very short and I believe I have to grant more time for discussions to our colleagues in the ruling coalition,” the PM-designate added.
Asked what she wants to reply to President Klaus Iohannis in respect to the ministers with integrity issues, Dancila said: “At the moment, I am the proposal of the ruling coalition for the prime minister office, made to Mr President Iohannis. Mr President Iohannis has sent the designation to Parliament. I cannot make statements as a prime minister, for the moment, in the context in which I am not a prime minister yet.”
PSD’s Dragnea: We had consultations on the new Gov’t: some proposals were rejected by Viorica Dancila
Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader Liviu Dragnea on Friday announced that consultations were held at the party with respect to the new government composition, and that some of the proposals weren’t accepted by Prime Minister-designate Viorica Dancila.
“We had consultations, there were several proposals, but some of them were rejected by Mrs. Dancila. There could be two-three areas where there are several options to be taken into account and that’s why we will have to vote to set this matter,” Dragnea stated before the meeting of the National Executive Committee (CExN) of the Social Democratic Party.
Asked whether Deputy Prime Minister Paul Stanescu will continue to be a part of the future government, Dragnea said: “Mr. Stanescu already announced what he will do, in case that the court decides (..) to reopen his case, I don’t know exactly how things are. He said he will tender his resignation.”
Moreover, when asked if he was going to take care that the list with the new government members will be clear of any ministers facing such integrity issues, he said: “No, I don’t believe there will be any minister with such issues.”
In respect to the possibility that Rovana Plumb will be a member of the new government team, the PSD leader replied that the DNA (National Anti-corruption Directorate) request related to her was already rejected by the Parliament.
“But what is the problem with Rovana Plumb now too? (…) Since (the DNA request – editor’s note) was rejected, it means she has no capacity (in the case file – editor’s note),” said Dragnea.
Also, the PSD leader specified that he did not send President Klaus Iohannis a list with options for ministers on behalf of the PSD.
“I cannot send the President a list of options,” said Dragnea.

I and Mr Tariceanu will honor any invitation regarding matters which are important.”
