European Commissioner Corina Cretu to pay official visit to Romania

European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu will pay an official visit to Romania on Monday and Tuesday.

During the visit, the high European official will meet the Romanian PM Viorica Dancila, in order to discuss on the EU funds.

Commissioner Corina Cretu will also attend the conference “Fondurile europene, absorbtia si impulsul necesar. Cum conectam Romania in anul centenar? “ (“European funds, the required absorption and impulse. How do we connect Romania in the centenary year?” – e.n.), along with the Governor of the National Bank of Romania, Mugur Isarescu; the event is organized by CursdeGuvernare.ro and supported by the National Bank of Romania.

The high European official will receive the diploma “Meritul universitar cu medalie de aur – Virgil Madgearu” (“The Academic Merit with Golden Medal – Virgil Madgearu” – e.n.) granted by the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.

The Commissioner for Regional Policy will also host the awarding ceremony of the contest “Reporter si Blogger European” (“European Reporter and Blogger” – e.n.), the 2017 edition.

“I am coming to Bucharest to lay the foundation of a close and fruitful cooperation with the new Romanian Government, both in terms of making maximum use of the resources that are available within the 2014-2020 multiannual financial framework, and to discuss on the new post-2020 financial framework” stated the Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu prior to her visit.
