The total volume of the loans granted to Romania by the European Investment Bank (EIB) has exceeded 13 billion euros since the beginning of the operations in Romania in 1992 and up to now, a report of the institution, presented on Monday at a press conference at Victoria Palace, shows.
Also, the support of the EIB Group for Romania represents about 1.04% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), thus placing Romania on the 5th position among the EU member states from this point of view and above the Union’s average of 0.46%.
In 2017, the EIB celebrated its 25th anniversary since its first lending operation in Romania, and throughout this period, the bank has supported 126 projects nationwide, while its subsidiary, European Investment Fund, a number of 56 operations.
