Maren Lundby wins FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Rasnov

Norway’s Maren Lundby, the Olympic ski jumping title holder, won the World Cup stage in Rasnov on Sunday, while Romania’s Daniela Haralambie finished 33rd.

Lundby won the competition with 257.8 points, after jumping 100 metres and 97 metres respectively. Germany’s Katharina Althaus, winner of the silver medal in PyeongChang, finished second with 234.6 points (94-metre and 92-metre jumps), while Slovenia’s Nika Kriznar (7th at the 2018 Olympic Games) finished third with 234.5 points (91-metre and 93.5-metre jumps). Winner of the bronze medal in PeyongChang, Japan’s Sara Takanashi finished 4th, with 225 points (93.5-metre and 89.5-metre jumps), according to the International Ski Federation website.

Romania’s Daniela Haralambie, who was 25th at the 2018 Olympic Games, finished 33rd with 81 points (81-metre jump), failing to qualify for the final round of the competition, reserved for the top 30 athletes.
