Bucharest Mayor Firea on official visit in Chisinau to discuss implementation of cooperation programme

General Mayor of Bucharest Gabriela Firea is carrying out on Monday and Tuesday an official visit in Chisinau, in order to discuss with Silvia Radu, the Acting Mayor of the Republic of Moldova’s Capital about implementing the cooperation programme between the two cities, signed on 14 February in Bucharest.

“The Capital Mayor will also meet with the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Pavel Filip and with His Holiness Petru Paduraru, Archbishop of Chisinau and Metropolitan Bishop of Basarabia and will visit the ‘Onisifor Ghibu’ Public Library as well as ‘Mihai Eminescu’ Theoretical High school, which will be retrofitted and consolidated with the logistics and material support of the Bucharest Municipality,” reads a press release of the Bucharest City Hall (PMB).

On 14 February, Gabriela Firea and Chisinau’s Acting Mayor, Silvia Radu signed a cooperation programme aiming three fields – Culture, Education, Health.

The programme provides for, among other things, the setting up of a common cultural transportation line, providing camps for olympiad winners in Chisinau but also the possibility for resident physicians in Chisinau to participate in internship programmes in the hospitals managed by Bucharest Municipality.
