The “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy (ANIMV) announces that the activity of the National Intelligence College is suspended as a result of the checks started after the Finance Minister stated that he graduated a course without being present. Teodorovici’s diploma will be canceled.
“Regarding the requirements for graduating the National Intelligence College (CNI), in the case of Mr. Teodorovici Orlando Eugen – serial no. I/2013,a specialized committee was established at the level of the ‘Mihai Viteazul’ National Intelligence Academy, which checked the compliance with the procedures to obtain the graduation diploma. Also, following the joint decision of ANIMV and CNI, the Committee has begun checking for all the graduates of these courses, since the establishment of CNI until today. We mention that during the checks, the activity of the National Intelligence College is suspended” is the Academy’s message sent through a press release.
“The specialized committee certifies the following aspects regarding the manner in which Mr. Teodorovici Eugen Orlando has completed the stages related to the postgraduate program of continuous professional training and development entitled ‘The National Intelligence College’:
– he filed an application and registration file at the admission colloquium;
– he attended and held the admission colloquium;
– he concluded a study agreement with ANIMV;
– he paid the tuition fee for the “National Intelligence College” program;
– he didn’t held the tests at the three disciplines for which he received grades;
– he didn’t held the competence certification exam;
– he didn’t personally pick up the graduation certificate from the ANIMV headquarters”, according to the representatives of the Academy.
The result of the checks is the cancelation of the diploma. “Given the provisions of Art.144 para. (4) of the National Education Law no.1/2011 and the remarks arising from the Committee’s works, the cancelation of the graduation certificate is required” reads the press release.
The representatives of the educational institution say that “those who are accountable for breaching the ANIMV procedures of assessment and awarding the study certificates have no contractual relationship with the ‘Mihai Viteazul’ National Intelligence Academy or with the Romanian Intelligence Service anymore”.
The measures were taken after Eugen Teodorovici stated in October 2017 that he graduated a course of the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy without attending it, and he received the diploma at home. The Academy started an investigation as a result of the Minister’s statements.
“Mr. Eugen Teodorovici graduated the National Intelligence College in 2013, a 45-day postgraduate course for civilians. The current Senate of the ‘Mihai Viteazul’ National Intelligence Academy (ANIMV) took action ex officio in order to check the fulfillment of the graduation requirements in Mr. Teodorovici’s case” was the message sent by the Intelligence Academy through a press release at that time.
The Minister mentioned at that time that he didn’t personally go to pick up that diploma, and that “somebody brought it to him”, a person whom he didn’t know.
“They gave it to me, it was a Master or postgraduate course, I don’t know what it was. (…) I didn’t go to pick it up, somebody brought it to me. (…) I didn’t know that person” Teodorovici said.
