Gov’t creates Committee for implementation of objectives related to the Strategic Partnership with USA

The Government has announced the setting up of the inter-ministerial Committee for the implementation of the objectives related to the Strategic Partnership with the USA and other Romania-USA bilateral projects, under the coordination of the Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall.

The decision to create the inter-ministerial committee belonged to Prime Minister Viorica Dancila.

This forum will carry out its activity under the coordination of Deputy PM Ana Birchall, to include: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Public Finances, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry for the Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Communications and Information Society, the Ministry of Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Culture and National Identity and the Ministry of National Education.

Invited to participate in the works of the committee could also be representatives of other institutions with duties related to the Strategic Partnership Romania-USA, reads the press release of the Government.

The Committee will hold its meetings on a quarterly basis or anytime when needed, with its objective to monitor the implementation status of the bilateral projects Romania-USA.

According to the 2018-2020 governing programme, a priority field of action remains “development, strengthening and expansion of the Strategic Partnership for the 21st century with the USA, based on the Joint Statement regarding the Strategic Partnership for the 21st century between Romania and the Unites States of America” (Washington, September 13 2011), specifies the same source.
