Selgros organizes the 10th edition of the cooking contest “Arena Bucatarilor”

Starting from March, Selgros Cash & Carry organizes the 10th edition of the cooking contest “Arena Bucatarilor” (“Chefs’ Arena – e.n.), dedicated to the gourmet professionals in the HoReCa industry.

The stake of this year’s competition grows even more, thanks both to the prizes and to th changes meant to enjoy the chefs, the owners of the restaurants and the public.

Some of the most important changes, which can be found on the organizer’s website, are:

  • There will be four preliminary stages per regions, to be held between March 12 and April 10. The four regions are:

o             The East Region, which includes the Selgros stores in Constanta-North, Constanta-South, Braila, Galati, Bacau, Iasi and Suceava;

o             The Center Region, which includes the Selgros stores in Bistrita, Targu mures – Ernei, Targu Mures, Brasov, Ploiesti and Craiova;

o             The West Region, which includes the Selgros stores in Cluj-Napoca, Alba Iulia, Oradea, Arad and Timisoara;

o             The Bucharest Region, which includes the Selgros Stores in Baneasa, Pantelimon, Berceni and Drumul Taberei.

In the preliminary stage, the imposed ingredients are pork leg, quince and pickled cucumbers.

  • The semifinals for each one of the four regions will be held at the Fratelli Club from Bucharest, on May 19 and 20; the first two qualifiers from each semifinal will reach the final;
  • The Big Final will be held in Bucharest, at the end of the year, on a date to be established and announced in August.

The winner of the Arena Bucatarilor 2018 contest will receive a prize of RON 10,000. The value of all the prizes can be found in the Regulation. The prizes for the winners of the first three places in each semifinal are of RON 2,500, 1,500, respectively 1,000.

Starting from 2010, Selgros organized and hosted the competition entitled Arena Bucatarilor, a contest for the Romanian gourmets.

The competition that has already become a tradition aimed, in the seven years of existence, to award the skills and mastery of the most passionate Chefs who can prove to the jury, through clever cooking techniques, that they deserve one of the prizes offered by Selgros Romania.
