Calin Popescu Tariceanu gets rid of a new case

The prosecutors from the General Prosecutor’s Office have closed the complaint submitted by a physician from Germany who claimed that the Senate’s Speaker Calin Popescu Tariceanu has made false statements, judicial sources confirmed for AGERPRES.

Initially, the complaint was submitted to DNA, which decided it doesn’t have the competence, in favor of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

At the end of 2017, physician Vladimir Atanasie Marinescu field a complaint with DNA, claiming that Tariceanu, as a PNL MP, has falsified his statement of assets for 2011.

The physician claimed that Tariceanu didn’t mention in his statement of assets that he benefited in August 2010, from a free holiday in Izmir, Turkey, offered by the former ASF President Daniel Tudor and his wife, the former Senator Doina Tudor. According to the physician, Tariceanu and his family also benefited from a cruise with the Tudor family’s yacht.
