Pupils enrolled in pre-tertiary education system to benefit from discounts on local transport and cultural events

On Monday, President Klaus Iohannis promulgated the law according to which pupils enrolled in the pre-tertiary education system will benefit from discounts of at least 50 percent on public transport and of at least 75 percent on cultural events.

“Pupils enrolled in the accredited/authorised pre-tertiary education system will benefit from a discount of at least 50 percent on local public transport – surface, naval and underground transport systems – and on domestic auto, railway and naval transport throughout the year,” reads the law amending Article 84(1) and 84(4) of National Education Law no.1/2011.

Likewise, pupils enrolled in the pre-tertiary education system will benefit from a discount of at least 75 percent on cultural events, namely on access to museums, concerts, theatre plays, opera shows, film etc.

The legislative act amending Article 84(1) and 84(4) of National Education Law no.1/2011 was tabled by PSD MPs and backed by PNL House lawmaker Lucian Heius.
