Prosecutors Lucian Onea and Alfred Savu from DNA Ploiesti and former prosecutor Mircea Negulescu are subject to disciplinary investigations conducted by the Judicial Inspection

Judicial Inspection (IJ) has ordered a disciplinary investigation related to the head of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) Ploiesti, Lucian Onea, and to the prosecutor Alfred Savu, as well as to the former prosecutor Mircea Negulescu, in the circumstances in which ten cases are pending at the Inspection, related to the activity or the behavior of the DNA Ploiesti prosecutors.

“Finding that there are clues of misconduct, judicial inspectors have ordered the disciplinary investigation in the case related to prosecutors Onea Lucian Gabriel, Savu Alfred and Negulescu Mircea”, according to sources from Judicial Inspection.

The representatives of the institution also said that there are ten cases pending at the Inspection, related to the activity or the behavior of the DNA Ploiesti prosecutors.

They also mentioned that at the end of the disciplinary investigation, depending on the result of the checks, the inspectors may decide to admit the complaint by exercising the disciplinary action and notifying the Department for Prosecutors in Disciplinary matters of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), or to reject the complaint if they find that the requirements are not met in order to exercise the disciplinary action.

The checks made by IJ are either based on complaints of individuals, or they come after the Inspection took a stand ex officio following the accusations made by the former PSD MP Vlad Cosma against the DNA Ploiesti prosecutors. Cosma claimed that they forged evidence in several cases.
