Iohannis: Decision on request for Kovesi’s removal to be made after rather than before Easter

President Klaus Iohannis said in Brussels on Friday that a decision on a request for the removal from office of chief prosecutor of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) Laura Codruta Kovesi will likely be taken after Easter.

“Certainly, at the right time, I will make a decision. I can tell you that this decision will not be taken before the holidays, but rather after Easter. How the decision will sound I will explain in a public statement at that time,” Iohannis said.

At the same time, he said that he would “draw inspiration” from all the documents that are made available to him by both parties.
