Deputies’ Chamber and Senate will meet in a solemn session on March 27 to mark 100 years since the Union between Bessarabia and Romania

Deputies’ Chamber and Senate will meet in a solemn session on March 27, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary since the Union between Bessarabia and Romania.

“We have approved the memorandum related to the solemn session of the two Chambers since March 27, which will mark 100 years since the annexation of Bessarabia to Romania” the Senate’s Speaker Calin Popescu-Tariceanu announced on March 13, at the end of the meeting of the Joint Standing Bureaus.

According to the document, “The Solemn Declaration celebrating the Union between Bessarabia and the Motherland, Romania, since March 27, 1918” will be debated and adopted; the Declaration will reflect the unity of the Romanian nation and language, the role of the political ancestors and the path to be followed by today’s politicians, as well as the desire to continue the institutional modernization and integration process in the EU.

Speeches will be held by the speakers of the two Chambers of the Parliament, by the representatives of the parliamentary groups and by the guests of honor.
