The Cinepolitica International Film Festival, the only festival in the Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to the political movie, is back in Bucharest from April 18 to 22.
Being dedicated mainly to the political movies, features, fiction movies or documentaries, brought together under the slogan “Not so politically correct”, the Cinepolitica festival will be held at Cinema Elvire Popesco and at the Balassi Institute in Bucharest.
After a year full of major events, from the nuclear tests performed by North Korea, or the fake-news phenomenon, to the Weinstein scandal or the withdrawal of the united States from the Paris Agreement, Cinepolitica returns with its seventh edition, where spectators can see the latest and most powerful political movies, or they can participate in debates on the hot topics of the moment.
“I believe that a common topic in this year’s program could be ‘the skeleton in the closet’, the occultation, the revelation and the assumption of guilty in case of some chronic ‘plagues’ of the human civilization. We will present movies and information which are not exposed ‘in the street’ anymore, , but they are deeply hidden, over the time, in the individual memory” stated Marius Copel, the festival selector.
Being organized by Asociatia Cultura si Imagine, the Cinepolitica International Film Festival is held under the aegis of the National University of Theater and Film “I.L. Caragiale” (UNATC) and by the National University of Arts (UNArte). The event is funded by the National Center of Cinematography (CNC).
