Florian Coldea to be heard again by Intelligence Cttee on April 5

Florian Coldea, former First Deputy Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), will be heard again by the Parliament’s Intelligence Committee on April 5, Committee Chairman Claudiu Manda announced on Tuesday.

Manda pointed out that Florian Coldea will be heard on April 5, starting at 11 a.m.

He said that Florian Coldea should have been heard today, but the hearing was postponed and rescheduled for April 5.

On March 13, Florian Coldea, former First Deputy Director of the SRI, was heard for approximately seen hours by the Intelligence Committee. At the end of that hearing, he told journalists that he gave “pro-active answers” to all questions and that he reserved the right to come back before the committee with new details.

“I believe we managed to tackle all the topics on the committee members’ agenda, some have already been circulating in the public space. In order to go deeper into others, I reserved my right – with which the committee members agreed – to return to the committee with new details that may be of interest when a series of ongoing issues are finalised. I believe I pro-actively answered all the questions. The answers referred to a series of issues, allegations, accusations circulating in the public space, belonging to some former or current beneficiaries and institutional partners, journalists, media people who are accusing us today, some of whom I can tell you were cultivating us with a lot of insistence, but also to some former collaborators from within the institution, retired [collaborators],” Florian Coldea stated back then.
