For four days, Spotlight changes the urban landscape of Bucharest

Thursday was the start of the fourth edition of Spotlight – Bucharest International Light Festival, with a large scale show of two international bands in the George Enescu Square.

One of the most wanted bands of the moment, the famous high-tech dancers Light Balance from Ukraine, who were the finalists of America’s Got Talent 2017, have prepared for Spotlight an elaborate dance and light show that made a stir in UK, Germany, South Korea, Saudi Arabia or China. The Light Balance performance was preceded by the show of the British “Spark!” drummers, who are half musicians and half futuristic characters with costumes and instruments lighted by LEDs.

After the opening event, the installations can be discovered on the main route between the Central University Library and Splaiul Independentei. The following strategic points have been included in the Spotlight route for the first time: the Triumphal Arch, the “Grigore Antipa” National Museum of Natural History, the Stirbei Palace, the Romanian Athenaeum, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the University Square, the Bucharest National Theater, the Bucharest City Hall.

With new buildings and monuments from Bucharest included on the Spotlight map for the first time, the video mapping international contest at the CEC Palace and other 27 installations, video mapping sessions and architectural projections from 11 countries, Spotlight changes for four days the urban landscape of Bucharest.

Spotlight is the only international light festival in Bucharest and is organized by the Bucharest Municipality through ARCUB.
