Romania: Corruption = Low Competitiveness. WIN MAGAZIN SA (Winmarkt) is the first company in Romania to obtain ISO 37001 Certification (Anti-Corruption Management System)

The certified activity is “Rental, property, asset and facility management”, core business of the Group.

An ambitious and significant goal, the result of a complex process of verification by a pool of RINA auditors, which involved the whole company, on a topic of increasing relevance and public awareness in Romania.

This is the first Accredited Certificate for ISO 37001 awarded to a Romanian company, which will surely be the precursor of many others certificates like this, shortly required in both public and private field.

Increased awareness of the corruption-related damages, less investments and less competitiveness at the expense of employment, called for strategies and actions in order to reduce risks and impacts, taking into account the utility of a transnational regulatory instrument for fighting against corruption in the context of criminality globalization.

The ISO 37001 standard is the only internationally recognized standard, that can be used in order to certify the corruption prevention management system that indicates the measures and the inspections that an organization can take for monitoring its activities and to increase the effectiveness of preventing corruption.

In awarding the certificate, Alessandro Romei, RINA, EMEA Senior Director Certification said: “We are pleased and honored to hand this prestigious certificate to WIN MAGAZIN, that is distinguished by the perseverance in achieving this Certification of excellence for its local structure. We at RINA are delighted to have strengthened our leadership in the certification field, at national level and in such an important and sensitive field as Anti-Corruption.”

RINA has been present in Romania since 2006 offering certification, compliance test, inspection and training services. Thanks to the acquisition of the Local Certification Entity, Simtex and ISCIR CERT, RINA became the first certification entity in Romania, being notified to the European Commission for certification and inspection activities in regulated areas, being able to offer a wide range of integrated services both in Romania and in neighboring countries. RINA Romania is part of RINA, a multinational group providing a wide range of services across the Energy, Marine, Certification, Transport, Infrastructure and Industry sectors. With a turnover in 2016 of 448 million Euros, about 3,700 employees and 170 offices in 65 countries worldwide, RINA is a member of key international organizations and an important contributor to the development of new legislative standards.

Carlo Barban, CEO of WIN MAGAZIN, said: “We are very proud to have obtained such an important and innovative recognition that demonstrates the compliance of our processes with the highest international standards in this field and once again demonstrates our commitment to work transparently. Integrity has always been an essential part of the vision and culture of the IGD Group, which is why, in the absence of appropriate local regulations, we have decided to voluntary take this challenge”.
