President Klaus Iohannis launched on Thursday an invitation to youngsters of Romania to enter the politics and “change Romania for the better.”
He stated, during the debate called “the Vision of youngsters for Romania’s future,” organised in Bacau, that youngsters are those who can change the politics in which we can find “acts of immorality and that of shirking responsibility.”
“I want to see more worthy youngsters entering politics, a political life in which the acts of immorality and the shirk of responsibility no longer exist. So, enter the politics, dear young people and change Romania’s politics for the better! Civic participation and public debate are welcomed and can influence decisions, but they can not replace the government if youngsters stay away from politics,” Iohannis said.
He underscored that the youngsters should be supported to come back to Romania after completing their studies abroad and develop a career here.
“We live in a very dynamic period with multiple challenges and for Romania the deep demographic crisis is such a challenge. We are in a moment when it is all the more important for young people, after completing their studies abroad, to be supported to return home and build their careers in Romania. It is our responsibility, that of the politicians, to offer you support for starting a family or opening a business, and obviously, for building a successful career. Otherwise, we risk remaining without a very valuable potential because the development of our social, cultural or economic life cannot ignore the contribution of young people,” the head of state added.
