Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on Thursday and Friday, at the invitation of his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita.
According to a press release from the Foreign Ministry (MAE), the program of the visit includes on Thursday, May 3, official talks with the Moroccan Government’s head Saadeddine El-Othmani and meetings with House of Councilors’ President Hakim Benchamach. At the same time, the head of the Romanian diplomacy will have talks with Saaid Amzazi, Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Melescanu’s visit to Morocco also includes an economic component “designed to stimulate bilateral trade and increase mutual investment”, which will be materialized by holding a meeting with the President of the Morocco-Romania Bilateral Chamber of Commerce, attended by local business operators, shows the MAE press release.
Moreover, on Friday, May 4, Teodor Melescanu will meet and hold bilateral consultations with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita.
On the occasion of the visit, the parties will sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the Romanian Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Cooperation Agreement between the Romanian Diplomatic Institute and the Moroccan Academy of Diplomatic Studies, the release also informs.
