Mexican parliamentary delegation visits Romania with the purpose of enhancing bonds between both nations

  • Inter-parliamentary dialogue, friendship, cooperation, and economic promotion on the agenda of talks
  • Ambitious agenda with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teodor Melescanu and high-level officials, as well as meetings with legislators from the Romanian Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
  • Dialogue with the Dean of the University of Bucharest; with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, and visits to the “Mexico” School of Bucharest and to Sinaia.

 

The Embassy of Mexico informs that between the 14th and the 16th of May, an important delegation of federal Deputies, members of the Permanent Commission, of the LXIII Legislature of the Honorable Congress of the Union, will pay a visit to Romania with the aim of enhancing the bilateral relation through a constructive inter-parliamentary dialogue and the endorsement of the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation that unite both countries. The group will be composed by remarkable legislators of different political parties, among them, Deputy Victor Giorgana, President of the Commission for Foreign Relations; Deputy Alfredo Anaya Orozco, Secretary of the Energy Commission; and Deputy Carlos Iriarte, Leader of the majority.

The visit takes place in a significant moment for the people and the Government of Romania who commemorate this year, the Centennial of the Great Union.

The Mexican parliamentary delegation will fulfill an ambitious agenda that includes, among other activities, a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teodor Melescanu and high-level officials from the MFA. Additionally, they will encounter leading legislators from the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate; as well as their counterparts from the respective Commissions of Foreign Affairs.

With the purpose of enhancing bonds between both nations in order to promote mutual understanding, deepen the bilateral cooperation and encourage new initiatives in the economic sphere, the Mexican legislators will also meet the Dean of the University of Bucharest and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania. In the frame of an emblematic activity, which reiterates the positive ties between the two countries, the Deputies are going to pay a visit to the “Mexico” School of Bucharest, where they will have a dialogue with teachers and students of this academic institution. With the same goal, they will meet with the mayor of Sinaia.
