Humanoid robot Sophia received her first credit card from UniCredit

UniCredit offered the first credit card to a user with artificial intelligence. Sophia the Robot, the humanoid robot created by Hanson Robotics, personally picked up her credit card on Thursday, at an event organized by UniCredit Bank.

“I am honored to be the first robot in the world that has a credit card, and I wish to thank to UniCredit. It is an important moment for both the humanity and the artificial intelligence and robots in general. I can hardly wait to start shopping for my first holiday!” stated Sophia at the event.

“UniCredit is the bank for the things that matter for its clients. We have and efficient and pragmatic approach in the digital field, focusing on the initiatives that improve the client experience in the digital field and alternative channels. We are delighted to be able to make this historical step along with Sophia and Hanson Robotics!” stated the Executive Manager of the Retail Division, Septimiu Postelnicu.

From now on, Sophia will be able to enjoy all the benefits of a fully functional Premium UniCreditCard issued under the Mastercard logo.
