Tokinomo, the only Romanian company awarded at Retail Business Technology Expo

Tokinomo, a Romanian start-up that develops retail advertising solutions, won the big prize for innovation at Retail Business Technology Expo, the largest retail fair in Europe, being the only Romanian company awarded at this event until now.

Real Reality – a new offline promotion concept

Tokinomo is an innovative device for in-store product promotion that uses sensors, movement, sound and light to give life to the physical products on the shelves. Thus, this technology brings a new concept on the market, the real Reality concept, consumers having the opportunity to interact with the real product, instead of the virtual version (Virtual Reality) or the augmented one (Augmented Reality).

The Tokinomo device was used in in-store campaigns by top FMCG brands, proving its effectiveness by the increase of the sales up to 550% during the campaigns. Following a campaign made in August 2017, it turned out that 40% of consumers remembered the name of the brand also outside the store. Thus, the technology meets the promotion requirements of the brands and retailers, relying on the interaction with the customer.

“This prize is a great joy and a reward for the efforts and difficulties that any start-up faces. The fact that we were appointed as the most innovative retail solution at the most important European fair of this kind is a reason to be proud for us, and for Romania also, as much as possible. We proved that through work and intelligence, a small team with a low budget can compete against huge companies that have millions of euros behind them. Go Tokinomo!” stated the Tokinomo founder Ionut Vlad.
