RO-Wine festival has brought together more than 3,500 quality wine lovers!

Delights of wine, exclusive tasting, refinement, elegance and a unique ambiance, this is what more than 3,500 participants in the third edition of RO-Wine | The International Wine Festival of Romania had, on which occasion 3,700 wine bottles have been opened for tasting, 3 tons of ice and 4,000 water bottles offered by the sponsor of the event, Aqua Carpatica, have been consumed, and more than 25,000 glasses of wine have been tasted! About 90 glasses have been broken in the applauses of the spectators.

Therefore, wine has occasioned beautiful and close friendships for two days, on May 19 and 20, at Fratelli Studios, bringing together the quality wine lovers, specialists in the field, wine cellar owners, HoReCa representatives and special guests who discovered together the excellence of some of the best Romanian and international wines.

Over 350 super-premium wines have been offered for tasting! An original selection of Romanian wines, as well as wines from New Zeeland, China, Argentina, United Sates of America, Italy, France, Portugal, Republic of Moldova or the exclusive VIP wines, such as the Champagne selection, the wines selected by Helmuth Koecher, “The Wine Hunter” and founder of Merano Wine Festival, Bruno Vespa’s wines and extreme wines, all of them have fascinated the visitors by their originality and uniqueness. Some of the most expensive wines of this year’s edition is a Chardonnay from France, whose starting price is EUR 200. Among the Romanian wines, the story of the one in which Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Neagra and Feteasca Regala have been merged, fascinated the visitors.

RO-Wine’s third edition attracted, in the two days of the festival, many special guests and public personalities who wished to take part in the tasting and know closely the refined wined, carefully selected, some of them being extremely rare, in limited editions. Some f these personalities were Nicolae of Romania and Alina-Maria of Romania, Dan Bittman, Andi Moisescu, Adrian Despot, Razvan Exarhu, Ilie Nastase, Lili Sandu and Silviu Tolu, Cezar Ouatu, Ciprian Marica, Ioan Andone, Marius Florea Vizante, Zoli Toth, Gabriel Liiceanu, Catalin Striblea, Stefan Lungu and Cosmin Tudoran. Nicolai Tand was also present at RO-Wine, not only as a guest, but also as a friend, since he had a gourmet area specially created for pastry and bakery products that bear his name. The hosts of the event, Marinela V. Ardelean and brothers Liviu and Mihai Popescu, along with the RO-Wine ambassadors, Cornel Ilie and Virgil Iantu, have been more than excited to have them and all the other participants with them.

“What happened in this RO-Wine third edition was fascinating, and the results are beyond the expectations! We were overwhelmed by to dreamlike days, with unique events, with beautiful people, willing to test the excellence in premium wines. There were many foreign people at the event, and they have also been conquered by the unique wines they found at the festival. Importers from Japan, Belgium and Holland have particularly sought wines from domestic varieties, while the Romanian consumers were fascinated by the extreme wines, by the wines available in bottles of 1.5 and 3 liters, as well as by the Romanian wines that have been recently launched” Marinela V. Ardelean stated.

The festival’s program has included a series of special events for getting a deep knowledge of the wine culture, which the RO-Wine participants could enjoy throughout Saturday, such as the workshop held by Stefano Saderi and Federico Giotto, called „What is quality?…In a profitable wine business”, „Extreme wines from heroic viticulture” hosted by Roberto Bartolomeo Lepori, and the masterclass “the Wine in the Future”, held by Helmuth Koecher.
