Since it is an important region on Romania’s map from the economic point of view, as well as due to the fact that local and county authorities support the business development, more and more foreign companies choose this county when they decide to come to Romania. As a proof of this, the Korean company Kamtec Auto Romania inaugurated its first plant in Romania also in Prahova County, in the commune of Aricestii Rahtivani. The event took place on May 24, 2018, and it was attended by the mayor of the commune Aricestii Rahtivani, Alexandru Cristea, the President of the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Aurelian Gogulescu, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Bucharest, Kim Eun-joong, the President of Kamtec Auto Romania, Young-Oh Cho, and the Administrative Manager Jihun Jung.
“We are glad that you chose Prahova County for your investment in Romania, and I am sure that you will be among the top members of the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry” stated the President of the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Aurelian Gogulescu, addressing the leadership of the Korean company. Besides, Aurelian Gogulescu handed a “Diploma of Excellence” to the President of Kamtec Auto Romania, Young-Oh Cho; the Korean representative wished to highlight the involvement of the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry in attracting foreign investments in the county.
The plant in the commune of Aricestii Rahtivani has an area of 9,767 sqm, of which 4,383 sqm are represented by the building; the expansion is possible with another 10,000 sqm which are available to Kamtec, which will produce DCM EGR car valves. Some of the current Kamtec clients are Renault (Spain and Turkey), Honeywell (Romania), and BorgWarner (Hungary).
